Apple spiced beer

Apple spiced beer of: apples, ginger, star anise, beer, ice.

Ingredients:Apple spiced beer

  • 8 apples
  • 25 g fresh root ginger
  • 6 whole star anise
  • 800 ml light beer
  • crushed ice

 

How to prepare:

Quarter and core the apples and, using a small, sharp knife, cut the flesh into pieces small enough to fit through a juicer. Roughly chop the ginger.

Push half the apples through the juicer; then juice the ginger and the remaining apples.

Put 105 ml of the juice in a small pan with the star anise and heat gently until almost boiling. Add to the remaining juice in a large jug (pitcher) and chill for at least 1 hour.

Add the light beer to the juice and stir gently until the froth has dispersed a little. Pour the spiced beer over crushed ice in tall glasses, allow to settle again and serve immediately.
